For about a year now I have wanted to buy things from Glossier. The brand appealed to me in so many ways. It was cute, simple and was advocating for more natural looking makeup which, when it comes to my face- makeup I prefer. Although I love a good old bold lipstick, heavy makeup only leads me to acne so I tend to try keep everything on the lighter side.
I decided to go with “The Makeup Set” as it had the Cloud Paint and Boy Brow which were the main things I wanted. It also comes with the the Lash Slick which meant I would get free shipping and with the 10% discount on the site worked out cheaper than just buying them individually.
My package arrived after 2 days but I missed it getting delivered, so I had to go to the big ol’ Post Office to collect it. Hate when you are expecting a package and you wait about all day and when you pop to the shops suddenly the postman is all up in your house trying to deliver. I was buzzing in the car, and opened it there to try things out and oooo boy did it all look cute. It was packaged in a simple cardboard box and paper inside which I like because there was no excess plastic. The packaging for the actual products were all cardboard boxes with the exception being the Cloud Paint that has a plastic cover.

Before using the products I used Nyx’s Bare with Me, Tinted Skin Veil as my base before getting into Cloud Paint in the colour Beam. I realised quickly it was a lot more sheer than I expected - which actually worked out well as it meant I couldn’t accidentally use too much or go over the top ( a very standard Chloe move). It is also super buildable so I can make my cheeks rosier and rosier and be like my inspiration Blinne ( shoutout to you chick ur cheeks are always giving me envy). This product comes in the cutest packaging ever, little paint tubes which means you can squeeze out the product directly onto the face or onto your finger to dab. I also like to add a little highlight into the middle to give me an extra extra bit of glow. So my verdict with this blush is I like it a lot, its beautiful n creamy and I would probably repurchase again. Perhaps next time in the set of 2 so I can try out some more colours. I feel that the colour Beam is a very light colour and maybe a darker colour would be better for a gorl who loves to be a blushing cherub.

Next we move onto the Boy Brow, which I think might be my favourite out of the whole bunch. When I first used it I was like eh it’s a good brow gel but nothing to get excited over. Then the next time I used it I was like wow my brows are looking fresh. It’s such an easy brow gel to use, as I have naturally very skinny brows sometimes brow gels will look very muddy and go all over the place. This thickens and holds in place without me having to wipe off a lot of excess. This product is great but for the price I wonder if there is a similar good brow gel which I wouldn’t have to order online. But I love how it makes my brows look and if it continues to please me I won't feel the need to keep looking for something cheaper. Once I find a product that works I tend to stick with it.

Finally, the mascara. I’ve left the worst for last. Sorry Glossier but you done me dirty. This mascara is not for me. I have pretty pathetic eyelashes to begin with; they are very straight and very thin so even the most volumizing mascara will still my eyelashes looking a lil bit sad. So this natural looking mascara isn’t the one for me. It makes my eyelases look spikey and clumpy. I think this mascara would be perfect for someone that already has good eyelashes and just wants their lashes but better. Or maybe someone with fair hair and just wants a bit of darkness added. I also found this product ridiculously hard to remove for a mascara that does not claim to be waterproof. Even with an oil cleanser there was still excess left.
I wanted it to be the one but alas it was not. This I more blame on my own dumb lashes rather than the product though.

So my final thoughts. For a brand that has been so hyped up for me through social media and through word of mouth, I feel I was always going to have really high expectations that ultimately couldn't be 100% met. The Boy Brow is great and I will continue using it to achieve my full n bushy brows that I so desire. The Cloud Paint is great for the summer, nice and light and pore blurring so I'll keep using and maybe add an extra bit of powder blush in the centre to add some extra brightness. The Lash Slick, although not for me and feel does nothing for my eyelashes I will use up, as I hate being wasteful but will not repurchase.
Have you tried out any of Glossier's products? Did you have a different experience? I'd love to hear back and also if you have tried the skincare and if it is worth looking into next. Thank you as always for reading!
